Gov Mimiko Swears In New LG Chairmen - Politics

Forty eight hours after they were elected, the new 18 local government chairmen in Ondo State were sworn in by the State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko yesterday .
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the International Events Centre, DOME in Akure, the state capital, was attended by the dignitaries.
Addressing the new council bosses, governor Mimiko charged them to fastrack more development at the grassroot.

Mimiko who said he was particularly happy for another success story recorded by his party urged them to provide more dividends of good governance in their council areas.

The governor charged them to employ team dynamics and good human management spirit in their administrations.

According to him, “the knowledge that government is a continuum, Council Chairmen must ensure that none of the people oriented projects being inherited now, is abandoned.”
“You will also be expected to display exemplary leadership, transparency and accountability in the conduct of government business.

“As the Chief Security Officers in your domains, maintenance of peace and security in the face of daunting security challenges should be your primary concern.

“You are expected to complement the efforts of the State Government in the pivotal role to ensure the security of lives and property of our citizenry so as to continue with the peace and harmony that currently pervades the state.

Responding on behalf of the new chairmen, Chairman Irele Local Government ,Hon. Adesanmmi Julius Ilumaro thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and promised to serve their people diligently.
