PRESS RELEASE FROM THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL, SRC (AAUASU) 18-02-16 ...

The attention of the Leadership of the Student Representative Council
(SRC) has been drawn to a recent statement signed by the Suspended
General Secretary of the Students Union, Segun Odunayo DAMZY alleging
that some top officials of the SRC pounced on members of the
Executives to demand money from them.

The council of students' representatives is committed to fairness,
Equity and Justice, and also with our promise to our respective
constituency members to always represent them well and stand by our
morals. Moreso, as Students' Leaders who have keyed into the frequency
of the Anti-Corruption Wave spreading across the Country; we thus
condemn in totality any act or manner of corrupt practises and we
therefore urge Segun Odunayo DAMZY to release the names of the alleged
senators with evidence within the next 24Hours for proper
investigation and disciplinary actions thereafter.

Segun Odunayo DAMZY must know that he has raised weighty allegations
that may cause aspersions on the integrity of the Student's
Representative Council as a legislative institution in the Students'
Union, and we are prepared to protect the integrity of te SRC, our
image and show to Student's that we are truly committed to Selfless
representation.

We hereby emphasise that the suspended General Secretary of the Union,
Segun Odunayo Damzy must release the names of the Senators who have
demanded for one Financial gain or the other in the course of doing
their duties of which they were elected in 24 Hours.
